CRITICAL REVIEWS
Text by Salvo Nugnes - Curator of exhibitions and major events
In Salvatore Ferrante's works, aka Soterus, one comes into contact with a reality in constant
becoming, that of dreams. Taking off from the skies and Vangoghian landscapes. The artist gives light to
Own fantasy bringing it back in the form of wavy lines, bright colors, open countryside and portraits. Passion in red goes further.
We arrive at a pictorial sculpture that studies movement, sensuality and color through dance, through a new style, more attentive to bright shades, shades and chiaroscuro, to the magic of evocation.
Text by Alessandra A nca Palel - Curator and Critic
Passionate about the warm essence of wood and painting, Salvatore Ferrante brings in his works the love for the land where he lives, proposing a material perspective of the suggestive Tuscan landscapes.
Salvatore combines the pictorial technique with that of woodworking, finishing and polishing with oils and natural resins, creating an ingenious inlay worked in relief, where the cut and polished pieces of wood are painted and reassembled in a surprising mosaic with various perspective plans.
A particular artistic investigation of faces and glimpses, where the essentiality of the forms is the guiding thread, and where the softness of the color, the quiet and nostalgic atmosphere attract and comfort us.
Thus we discover a descriptive accessible to the public, with warm and lively colors, with swaying volumes of bursting vitality and consonant and balanced aesthetic parameters that confer structural harmony.
Salvatore Ferrante involves us in a lyrical composition with a naive language, overlooking an enchanted and simple world, which brings us back to childhood memories, releases candor and transmits reassuring sensations and positive values.

Text by Maria Di Pasquale - Art critic and journalist
Salvatore Ferrante paints with a completely personal and experimental technique, using natural resins and colors created by himself. A painter-sculptor can be defined as the wooden material does not act exclusively as a support.
The symmetry and composure that inhabit these works describe the rigor of a highly cultured artistic research, from which background melodies seem evoked by silent musical instruments, accompanying the observer to discover a world made of the matter of dreams.
Text by Lucia Tremiti - Writer and journalist
For a work a day on display in Montepulciano here are the artistic works of the friend and colleague Salvatore Ferrante on display in the Sala Bellarmino, near Piazza Grande, throughout the month of August until early September. The artist, passionate about the vital essence of wood, combines in his works the love for the region where he lives, Tuscany and the warm colors of the South linked to Campania, his homeland. In a multi-level perspective game, the various pieces of wood, cut and polished, are painted, worked in relief and reassembled inlaid. His paintings, already on display in many international exhibitions and in the most prestigious catalogs, take the form of surprising, sometimes surreal, almost fairytale landscapes in which the cypress, typical Val d'Orcia tree and symbol of life, never fails. The skies, in Ferrante's paintings, recall those of Vincent van Gogh alive and richly colored. The artist plays on the indistinction between two-dimensional, drawing, and three-dimensional, sculpture and architecture, creating a pictorial, signic gesture of the works in the form of landscapes, countries, cities. The polishing with natural oils and resins, the warm and lively colors and the balanced and rounded volumes of bursting vitality allow the users to read and grasp in the works of Salvatore Ferrante a structural harmony that reconciles all the senses, appeasing the soul and giving us "that visual and tactile pleasure as if it were a caress of the spirit"
